Adjust the die-cutting pressure of the fully automatic die-cutting machine

Six steps to adjust the die-cutting pressure of an automatic die-cutting machine:

(1) Cut a stack of cardboard slightly smaller in size than the lower platform (with a basis weight of 200-300g/m2 being ideal) for later use. Try to use cardboard with uniform thickness, tight structure and hard texture, which has a small plastic deformation under strong pressure.

(2) Install the die-cutting plate. The cut edges of the die-cut plates sawn with saws are often not smooth enough. Sometimes, there are wood chips on the back of the steel knives and steel wires. During die-cutting, the local pressure at this location will be too high. Therefore, it is essential to clean the wood chips on the back of the steel knives and steel wires thoroughly.

(3) After the die-cutting plate is installed, take a piece of the prepared cardboard (hereinafter referred to as the "pressure-regulating cardboard"), and make the right edge of the pressure-regulating cardboard flush with the edge of the mouth and the right edge of the lower platform. Then, use adhesive tape to stick the pressure-regulating cardboard onto the lower platform. Adjust the pressure according to experience, and press a knife mark on the pressure-regulating cardboard. At this point, the precision requirement for die-cutting pressure is not high. As long as it is controlled to the extent that the pressure-regulating cardboard is not cut and the knife marks can still be seen, then the die-cutting pressure can be locally adjusted according to the knife marks. Remove the pressure-regulating cardboard from the lower platform, and at the same time, draw the color out of the frame from the machine. Then, stick the pressure-regulating cardboard onto the upper frame steel plate with adhesive tape. Since the pressure-regulating cardboard is placed flush with the right and front edges of the lower platform during creasing, its right and front edges are fixed relative to the right and front edges of the upper frame steel plate. This position should be marked on the upper frame steel plate in advance with a pen for long-term use. It is very convenient to align the pressure-regulating cardboard with the marked positions on the steel plate. Then fix it with adhesive tape. The knife marks on the pressure-regulating cardboard pasted on the steel plate should be aligned up and down with the steel knife position on the die-cutting plate beneath it. For equipment maintenance and upkeep, when local pressure replenishment is needed later, simply find the corresponding position on this cardboard for supplementation.

(4) Install the creasing line again.

(5) Taking into account the total length of the steel knife and steel wire on the plate, the thickness and hardness of the cardboard to be die-cut, the hardness and area of the rubber strip and other factors, roughly set a pressure value and adjust the pressure regulating mechanism to the appropriate scale.

(6) Input the first piece of cardboard to be die-cut, conduct a pressure test for inspection, and then correct and adjust the pressure. The correction of pressure is divided into two types: overall regulation and local regulation. The overall pressure CTP should be adjusted first, followed by the local pressure.

Overall pressure regulation: It is controlled by adjusting the pressure regulating mechanism. For newly purchased die-cutting machines, the pressure is relatively uniform. Generally, the overall pressure is adjusted until 70% to 80% of the cutting line can be cut. Due to the fact that die-cutting plates are always installed in the front and center of the plate frame regardless of their size, the front and middle parts are more likely to be subjected to pressure. Therefore, after long-term use, the pressure distribution of die-cutting machines is often very uneven. It is impossible to adjust the overall pressure like new machines and achieve over 70% of the cut lines being cut. Some machines can only be adjusted to a small part of the cut lines being cut. Most of the remaining part needs to be made up for through local adjustment.

Local pressure regulation: Local pressure regulation is achieved by pasting paper of appropriate thickness at the corresponding positions on the pressure-regulating cardboard adhered to the upper frame steel plate. If the pressure distribution of the die-cutting machine is rather uneven during inkjet printing, paper of appropriate thickness can be pasted locally. If only one cut is not made, then only the position corresponding to that cut should be pasted with correction paper tape. Generally, correction paper tape comes in various types of different thicknesses, and the appropriate type should be selected based on the degree of insufficient pressure. Through multiple pressure tests, the local pressure on the pressure-regulating cardboard was repeatedly supplemented by inkjet printing to meet the requirements of cutting the cardboard and indentation with the smallest possible pressure.
